The hair design program is 1400 hours and takes as little as 47 weeks to complete with a full-time schedule (30 hours/week). With a part-time schedule (20 hours/week), you could complete the program in as few as 70 weeks. Because the hair design program is one of our distance learning programs, you could complete nearly half of the curriculum from the convenience of your own home.

Can I get financial aid to help pay for tuition?

Is the hair design program available as a Spanish-speaking course?

No, we do not offer hair design as a Spanish-speaking course. However, we do offer cosmetology and barbering in Spanish. Both programs offer an education in hairstyling, but they are slightly different. Cosmetology offers a robust curriculum in hairstyling, skincare, and nails, while barbering focuses on men’s haircuts or other short hairstyles.

What is the difference between the three hair-related programs?

Hair design, cosmetology, and barbering are the three programs at our school that include hair services. Hair designers work only on hair. They learn a full range of hair services, including cutting, styling, and coloring. Cosmetologists learn the same skills as hair designers, plus other beauty services, like facials and manicuring. A professional cosmetologist may have more career options available to them after completing beauty school. A barber, on the other hand, focuses more on men’s hair and men’s grooming.

Do I need to tour the school before enrolling?

We strongly encourage prospective students to take a personal tour of our school. This is a great opportunity to experience our professional beauty school culture and meet with instructors. If you are thinking about studying hair design at Elite Cosmetology, Barber & Spa Academy, here are the admissions requirements needed to enroll:

Applicant must be 17 years of age or older.
Applicant must provide proof of secondary education, such as a diploma, GED certificate, an official transcript of secondary school completion, or a state certification of homeschool completion.
Foreign high school diplomas need to have a validity and equivalence report sent to us via U.S. mail or email.
In the absence of the above documentation, the applicant must take and pass an approved ability-to-benefit test administered by an approved Independent Test Administrator.
Applicant must complete an application for enrollment.
